Newspaper Indexing

Newspaper indexing is very much a cross between journal indexing and database indexing. It is similar to journal indexing in that only the one title is indexed, but it has the characteristics of a database in having a range of fields. Depending on the newspaper concerned, and the type and depth of coverage required will influence the number of fields required.

Master Indexing can:

• Provide indexing for an existing newspaper index
• Create a database structure for a new newspaper index, and commence the indexing, and
• Act as a consultant to provide advice on setting up a newspaper index database in close consultation with the client, and to train staff in newspaper indexing.
